Wedding Cake Size
The size of the wedding cake that you choose will depend on a number of factors. There are several things you need to consider - how many guests will be attending, are you serving the cake instead of a desert, if your cake is being served after a full dinner or lunch then you could perhaps consider serving smaller slices.
The type of cake will also determine the size of the slices a rich sweet fruit cake may be more suitable for smaller slices than a rich chocolate cake being served as a desert. When calculcating the number of servings don't forget to include some slices to be posted to guests who are unable to attend your wedding.
If you are having a very large number of guests then you may like to consider a grooms cake. A grooms cake helps in two ways - it will be a lower cost per slice than your decorative cake and also allows your caterers to begin cutting in advance to serve to your guests.
